Vacancy

The Project Room at the Yvon Lambert Gallery overlooks the street through a window that occupies almost the entire width of the space. I wanted to highlight the dual status–public and private–of this place, by creating an analogy between a hotel room and an exhibition space. Both are spaces that try to create a feeling of intimacy despite receiving a large number of visitors. Vacancy is not an interior design project but an attempt to reproduce the sense of alienation people can feel in a hotel room.
