New Paintings

The New Paintings series is fooling around with history on various levels: The table top is manufactured using the antique Pietre Dure technique but the marble motives are digitally "painted". At closer inspection one can indeed recognize Photoshop's brush tool’s characteristic outline. But what appears to be new reveals itself as old again with the naive brushstrokes recalling the shapes of the first digital paint programs.
